FocusED

FocusED is a website and integrated campaign providing support to address the study needs of high school students with ADHD.

ADHD affects one in every 20 children in Australia. High school students with ADHD lack fundamental organisational and time management skills, significantly impacting their ability to function in school. 52% of students with ADHD perform below the average in school, compared to 18% of students without ADHD.

I created the campaign and graphic design of focusED, as I am an individual with ADHD and learning needs. I struggled throughout my school years with time management and completing tasks due to attention difficulties. This led to me falling behind in class, which negatively impacted my marks. I felt there was a lack of support and awareness amongst my school and society, of the struggles a student with ADHD experiences.

I created focusED to raise awareness on ADHD and provide a solution to time management and organisation struggles. FocusED aims to create a more positive mindset towards ADHD and school, and improve students overall academic performance. Through implementing these strategies at a young age, individuals are able to prevent further struggles in the future such as in the workplace.

FocusED is a website that provides three study tools for students, including a task to-do list, weekly schedule and study timer.

The tools will allow students to complete assignments in time before the due date, effectively manage the time required to complete tasks, and break down their progression of tasks.

I have used a colour palette of different warm tones consisting of orange, red and yellow. I have done this because orange symbolises the enthusiasm, creativity, and mental stimulation that are common traits in people with ADHD.

To represent the idea of focusED, I have designed a brain combined with ADHD tablets as the logo.
